- Charlie Morton-Smith Review added: 2018.10.06★ ★ ☆ ☆ ☆Between 23rd Dec and 2 Jan I have visited this store 8 times. 4 times to 'reserve' a slot at the Genius Bar and 4 times to attend the Genius Bar. I could have booked electronically but from the off I was told that I could be seen quicker if I just turn up and ask for appointment. Which has happened. The problem here however is that you have to reserve a spot in person and wonder about until you can be seen. It started well. One iPhone replacement due to faulty battery and one iPad replacement with an additional charge due to irreparable damage (£190). Next the replacement phone doesn't work so back we go. Next the the replacement phone needs to be sent away so we are lent one; we will have to return for this visit also not included in the 8 visits so far. The final straw however was returning today to be told that the £190 replacement can not be done because a repair was made on the screen by a non-approved provider of that service. Ahhh, I here your minds but bear with me....we received a quote for the replacement and had even expected not to get anything. I even told my daughter not to bother and that she would need to spend over £400 to get a replacement until the Apple staff told her she could get one for £190. She was over joyed. Can you imagine how she feels now? So we have had a family Apple Christmas which has strengthen my personal resolve to never own anything Apple and should my family want one they will have to deal with the countless and inexplicable technical issues that come with the Apple brand themselves. I've given two stars because although we have been seriously messed about the people we saw were genuine and appeared to want to help. The amount of time waiting and the quantity of staff doesn't make any sense and for those of us who don't buy into this Apple world and shop elsewhere for their technical possessions are baffled by the system this shop runs. A frustrating experience.
